Australia New Zealand Trip

My wife Esther and I, along with my sister-in-law Joyce, recently returned from an absolutely wonderful trip to Australia and New Zealand. We left on October 10, 2019 and returned on November 19, 2019; spending 19 days in New Zealand and followed by 17 days in Australia. We broke up our long flight from Los Angeles to Auckland (~13 hours) and from Sydney to Los Angeles (~15 hours) by spending two days each way with our daughter and her husband in California. We also upgraded the long flights to premium economy; as it turned out, a very smart move.

The New Zealand leg of our trip was a tour by Grand Pacific Tours and was absolutely outstanding. We saw most of the country, north and south islands, took airplane tours, boat tours, train tour and spent a fair amount of time on a bus. The tour director and bus drivers were excellent as were our fellow travelers.

The Australia leg of our trip was put together by out travel agent and was also very good. We toured from Adelaide through Melbourne to Sydney. Most of the trip was done using a rental car; driving on the wrong side of the road. There were many highlights in Australia, but our day on Kangaroo Island was the grearest; being fabulous!

We took a lot of photos during our trip. In order to best present our trip, I have create four photos galleries, four slideshows and a number of videos. The four photo galleries are the New Zealand North Island, New  Zeaand South Island, Australia from Adelaide to Melbourne and Australia from Melbourne to Sydney.  There are two slideshows for each New Zealand and Australia. Each slide is displayed for 3 seconds and the slideshows run for; New Zealand 44 minutes and Australia 37 minutes. The two versions of each slideshow (1) display our photos in the sequence of our itierary,  and (2) displaying our photos randomly.

During our trip, Esther made great use of her iPhonr 8. She not only took many great photos, she also took a number of videos. I have consolidated her videos into two pages; one for New Zealand and one for Australia. There is also a page to view all of the emails I sent home to family and friends during our trip.

Menus to access the photo galleries are on the right of each page. To acces the slideshows, videos and emails, click on the “To Access: Slideshows, Videos & Emails” link in the Trip Galleries menu.

By watching our photos galleries, slideshows and Esther’s videos, hopefully you will appreciate why we enjoyed our trip as much as we did.
